Matters Of Sport Matters of Sport is a festschrift in honor of Eric Dunning, the leading sports sociologist in the English-speaking world. Matters of Sport addresses Eric Dunning`s contribution to the sociological journal science sports and historical study of sport. Out of Bounds This critique of the current state of basketball comes from the New York Times sports journalist Harvey Araton, who traces how the game has changed for the worse from the early 1990s to the present.
